CHALLENGE: Southern Reading Challenge Haiku

Maggie is having another contest over at the Southern Reading Challenge for an autographed copy of Mudbound by Hillary Jordan. Make up a haiku to go with a southern book you're reading for the summer challenge. Haikus are great poems with such solid rules, for science people like me who try to get creative.
