BLOGGING: It's Tuesday, where are you?

I'm ready to be done of winter. That is all.

I've recently been released from the tower I was locked in with my mistress after nearly 1000 days. True love hasn't won out yet but I am hopeful. I think our land is ancient Mongolia, which is a very interesting country and I don't see a lot of books set there. (Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale)

Where is reading taking you today? Is it a place you've been? A place you want to visit? Is it even a real place? Is it winter in your book? Leave an answer in the comments or post on your blog too.

  3. I've left PEI for old New York where I'm hanging with the upper crust of society. It's a bit confining. Hope I remember to use the right fork. (The Age of Innocence)

  11. I'm in Sarajevo and I try to avoid sniper fire as I go about my daily business. A cellist plays in the street each day at four o'clock. He brings us hope. (The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway)

I'm also still following Tony Hillerman around as he discusses his life. (Seldom Disappointed by Tony Hillerman)

  16. It's February and I'm in Pecan Springs in the Texas Hill country. My herb shop business is going great. I'm trying to not be involved in the investigation of a suicide that may not be a suicide of a former Texas Ranger, but I keep getting pulled into it. I also think my boyfriend might be cheating on me just when I finally decided I'm ready to marry him.

  17. This is my first post for the 'where are you theme'. We have another 3 1/2 months of winter here!! Your book sounds intriguing. I haven't read any of Shannon Hale's books either - I'll have to look her up. My contribution is on my blog http://bookclubofone-me.blogspot.com

  18. It's summer in my book (shame it isn't in real life as I have to do playground duty tomorrow - yuck!!)

In my book I'm in Shefield, a northern English town (Northern Clememcy)

  19. I'm currently in the English countryside, and despite the natural beauty there's a feeling of unease...far away, though I try to ignore it, there's a war going on. The book is How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff.

I so want to get my hands on Book of a Thousand Days!

  20. We haven't had much of a summer, but it was HOT last night, not going below 30C (86F) so just today I am over it!

I am travelling around a bit between Australia, Vanuatu and Japan, explaining how I made my fortune and trying to fix my life partner's problem. (Fishing for Stars by Bryce Courtenay)

  23. Well...today is freezing here in Peoria. It's 6 degrees, with a -6 wind chill....and a little snow. So, I'm spending my day home relaxing by the fires (shhh...it's my birthday!)

As for reading, I'm actually back and forth between Boston and a yeshiva in Isreal....reading Who by Fire by Diana Spechler!

As for me, I'm in Toronto.

  26. I'm in a country estate in 1920s England playing amateur detective. It's a tricky case. Did my host murder his brother and then disappear or did someone else murder my host and his brother? There's only one dead body? Totally perplexing. (A.A. Milne's The Red House Mystery)

I'm also in Wonderland with Queen Alyss. Pressure is building within the rival factions. I think Alyss is in for BIG trouble. (Seeing Red by Frank Beddor)

It only takes a little bit of cold and snow to make me tired of winter. Today was actually nice as it reached the lower 40s. I don't remember that happening before in Jan.

  28. BTW, I never even noticed until this week that there was no apostrophe in "it's" on the button so I added one in because now that I know it would drive me crazy. You can see the updated button on my post here if you'd like to grab it. Sorry!
