BLOGGING: It's Tuesday, Where Are You?

Tonight, we will attend the Trivia contest at the annual Blueberry Festival in my husband's small hometown. His two sisters, brother, their spouses, and a random couple who joined us a few years ago and now come back faithfully every year, will compete with about 200 other people in the rink. Nothing like drinking beer in an ice rink in the summer for atmosphere! We usually do very well, but last year my husband had to take our son to a baseball game too far away to make it back for the competition. It was one of the few years we didn't place in the top three, so he is obviously our major player. Regardless of how we do, it is a wonderful time with all the family, a tradition we look forward to every year.

Reading wise, I am in a burn unit, beginning to recover from a horrific accident. I used to be a por no star, so this is really going change my life. (The Gargoyle, by Andrew Davidson)

Oh, I don't think I can read The Gargoyle. It sounds pretty graphic from what I've heard. Hope you enjoy it!

I am also in my home town trying to figure out whether I want to become a Guardian for the Directorate of Other Races. Lots of werewolves and vampires abound! (Kissing Sin by Keri Arthur)

  18. I'm a little envious of you this week, the trivia and Gargoyle. I'm in a juveline detention centre for girls in an imaginary town of Jackfish Bay, way North between Inuvik and Tuktayuktuk.

  21. I look forward to your review of The Gargoyle! I really liked that book, but I know it could not easily work for everyone.

As to me, I am just wrapping up a trip to Camelot, but that's not how it is spelled in the book, but with Isolde, not Arthur in Twilight of Avalon

  22. Do you think Candleman and I could join your team? It would be so awesome to travel to PEI every summer. I'd cheer from the sidelines, but Candleman would be a real asset to the team. As much as I would love to follow thru on this little idea, I know it's impossible. But I am jealous of the fun trivia tournaments, cailidhs and other traditions that Canadians have. Candleman has bought so many instruments in hope of starting a cailidhs tradition here, but so far no takers. Sad.

My reading takes me to Texas in Story of Forgetting.

  23. BTW - I meant to wish you best of luck in the trivia tournament. I know you'll have fun.

  24. You and Candleman can definitely be on my trivia team. And the Maritime music and ceidilhs are fabulous. My husband and I went to see a tribute show about Stan Rogers. His music is such a wonderful legacy.

Not only did we have fun at trivia, we won! There were about 30 teams, and after being shut out last year, we rebounded to win again. The other teams hate us, :)
