Welcome to the summer edition of Where Are You? Summer doesn't officially start until school is done for me, which means July 1st. That's also Canada Day, and the start of the 4th Canadian Book Challenge. Our family started the summer at a basketball tournament, the Eastern Canadians. My son was on a U13 team that won a silver medal, which was pretty awesome for our small province. He was also chosen as an All-Star for the tournament, all 5' of him. And let me tell you, they grow some pretty big 13 and 14 year old boys these days.
In reading, I am caught up in a town of two interrelated families, all hoping to inherit a family heirloom. Lots of romance and characters in 1930s PEI. I don't remember reading this one before; it's great to find a new LM book. (A Tangled Web, LM Montgomery)

I have stalled in pre Revolutionary Russia (War and Peace) but I was also in New York (City of God by Beverly Swerling) and in Connecticut (Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts), and finally in Arthurian Britain (Shadow of the King by Helen Hollick). Fortunately I finished two of them late on Tuesday otherwise I would be getting a bit overwhelmed
ReplyDeleteErrgh, Intense Debate Comments! It takes a bit longer to load the comments, so sometimes, if a commenter is quick to hit the comment link, I lose my intense debate comments that are already there. It's ok Marg, it's taken me a while to figure out why this happens sometimes. I still have the comments saved on email, so it's easy to reload.
ReplyDeletefrom john mutford - I'm currently in Edmonton (Wings of Glass by AmberLee Kolson).
from jenny - I love A Tangled Web! I discovered it in high school, well after I'd read most of Montgomery's other books, so it was a treat for me as well. It's not her best book, but it was such a pleasant surprise that I always have good feelings toward it.
