You should definitely read Shutter Island by Lehane!!! I loved that one when I read it and really enjoyed the movie as well. Hope you have lots of fun with this challenge and all of the scary reading :)

thanks Sam! Shutter Island is looking pretty good! I haven't seen the movie at all.
What a fabulous mystery list for the challenge! I have a mix I am sorting through now. I have some Deon Meyer (isn't he a really good mystery writer?) but haven't added it to my list. I've read The Calling, it was very good! I have the sequel to get to now. I've read Duma Key ( really good King), and am still trying to get a copy of Black Skies here. I've heard the Forgotten Garden is very good from a friend who read it. Love your list, and I hope you have fun with the challenge!!

I just picked up Black Skies yesterday in trade paperback for. Loving Meyer - I'm reading Dead Before Dying right now. So good. I've had the King for a long time, and really meant to read it this summer, but RIP season sounds good as well.
I see where the author of The Calling has recently 'come out' and revealed their real name. Says there is another book or two in the series.
I keep meaning to read Kate Morton but have not gotten around to doing so. Great list of potential reads you have there. I haven't read Shutter Island but my wife has and really enjoyed it. I think the film is fantastic.

Thanks for joining in with us once again, it was wonderful to see your name pop up there on the sign up list. :)

thanks Carl! It's the easiest pile of books to assemble. How many I get read is another story!
This really is one awesome "challenge," isn't it?!!

I've read exactly zero of the books in your pool. So hope you love every one you get to!

Oh yes, awesome challenge. Really all my favorite types of books.
I veer more toward crime/mystery books, so you and I don't have a lot of overlap. I just finished my first book and it was excellent.

Thanks for stopping by Debi. I was just remembering the other day when we used to do the vocabulary sentences with Annie. That was fun!
And you've already gotten one read: that's terrific! I made another ridiculously long list, of spooky movies too, but I have yet to dive into my RIP stack. The Calling jumps out at me here: seems like I've heard that series mentioned a few times recently. Enjoy your selections!

Luckily the challenge starts a bit early, and I was reading it as September started. (I just finished the second one today)
I think the author of The Calling just 'came out' recently, and revealed his real name. It looks good, plus it's Canadian. Enjoy your reads as well.

Love that you've carried books over from last year! I don't know most of your list but I did like Her Fearful Symmetry (though I was one of the few left completely underwhelmed by her earlier book). Hope you enjoy it!

I never get everything read on my lists so those books are still staring at me. I'm looking forward to Her Fearful Symmetry, but I did enjoy her other book!
Looks like a good list. I just picked up Shutter Island this week at Books-A-Million. Have had it on my wishlist forever and it was on clearance.
I think you did better than me. Mine was a bit blah. Had a lot of books to go through but ran out of time for them I guess! Still not too bad for the novel department.
