BLOGGING: It's Tuesday, where are you?

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Where is reading taking me this warm summer day? I am reminiscing about my youth in Norway, helping my father to chop some trees down, and when my friend took me Out Stealing Horses. I won this book from Wendy, at musings of a bookish kitty. thanks!

I just got off the train at Bright River and am waiting ever so patiently for the ride to take me to the home where I will be adopted! My first family! Life has been pretty tough for me, with all those twins, can a woman really have three sets of twins? I may not look too big, but I can cook dinner for thirteen and wash diapers and carry buckets of water, but I would love to get to school and have the chance to learn. My teachers so far have been wonderful to me and it would be exquisite to be able to go to school again. And maybe, do I dare wish, I will be able to find a bosom friend. Katie Maurice, and then Violetta, helped me through the depths of despair, and I know they weren't actually real, but they were all I had, but a real friend, to talk with and play, would be my deepest wish. (Before Green Gables by Budge Wilson ends with Anne waiting at the train station. I just finished it today)

Where is reading taking you today?

  1. I am at a house party in the country. I swear I saw a body of a servant, but now it is missing. To make matters worse the river has flooded and now we are stuck here. (Urn Burial by Kerry Greenwood).

I am also still in Paris with Auguste Renoir painting the famous painting Luncheon with the Boating Party (reading a book of the same name by Susan Vreeland).

  4. Well, I don't really know where I am so far. I just started
'I, robot" by Howard S. Smith last night and so far every chapter has me slingshotting from one place to other. So far I've been to Lebanon, Israel, England and Tokyo. I'm getting dizzy!

The 8yo and I are still on the deserted island with Abel but we do have company now as a frog recently washed ashore and is now stuck here with us. Maybe two minds will be better than one in trying to figure a way off. (Abel's Island by William Steig)

  8. I've been taken by a group of wizards and witches to the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix. I'm pretty angry that there's been a lot of things going on the past few weeks that have been kept secret from me. I'm not sure what's going on yet, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

I just left Lyra Belacqua and her daemon Pantalaimon just after she walked across the bridge through the Aurora to a new world (The Golden Compass) and now I'm with Will Parry, a young boy who is searching for something and is anxious about a group of men who must be following him or looking for what he is searching (The Subtle Knife). Both books are by Philip Pullman, as part of the His Dark Materials trilogy.
