BLOGGING: It's Tuesday, where are you?

The Olympics are over and now I can get back to reading a bit more. This last week of August is usually the week I try to get everything done I meant to do for the whole summer, so I see some major cleaning, class prep, shopping, errands, appointments, and such in the rest of this week. Maybe I won't get that much reading done after all!

Right now I am in Algeria and my little city of Oran has just been quarantined with the Plague! Eww. (The Plague by Albert Camus) Now and then I check to see how the String theory is developing in the 1980s. (The Trouble with Physics by Lee Smolin)

Where is reading taking you today? Some people leave their answer in the comments, some people write on their blog and then leave a link in the comments. Fill your boots! Whatever you like.

  1. Your week sounds like my week, so many things to do before I go back to school!
At the moment in still in Algessia with Eragon, I really didn't read much of this last week but plan to get it finished this week.
I shall be starting Potrait in Sepia later this afternoon, so I'm assuming I'll be in Chile

  11. I'm currently in London where I build custom doll houses and try to keep up with my 3 kids while my Husband (an Arthurian Legends expert) teaches at Oxford. He's a bit overbearing and for some reason I put up with it - maybe due to this being my second marriage?. Anyway it looks like we're about to move to the US where a wealthy Arizona businessman wants my husband to consult on an Arthurian Theme Park and Museum he wants to build as a tribute to his dead wife.

  12. This week I just left my village and my family to study medicine at university in Khartoum, Sudan, but the growing turmoil in the country has started to interfere with my education and has me worried about what more awful things might soon occur (Tears of the Desert by Halima Bashir).

  14. I have just moved to London thanks to my very generous new anonymous benefaction (Great Expectations by Charles Dickens).

I am also in 12th century Oxford, having just been ordered by the king to look into the attempted murder of his mistress (The Serpent's Tale by Ariana Franklin).

And finally, I am in contemporary America, but this is an America where there are vampires and werewolves and demons. A half demon is being lured into investigating some rival gangs and it could well go horribly pear shaped! (Personal Demon by Kelley Armstrong)

  16. I just left a very noir experience in the suburbs of Tokyo (Out by Natsuo Kirino). I'm now headed to 1865 Boston to see if a group of Dante scholars can solve a series of murders (The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl).
