BOOKING THROUGH THURSDAY: Hero

You should have seen this one coming … Who is your favorite Male lead character? And why?

I did see that coming! So I was already thinking . . .

Ed Kennedy from I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, for his faith, and belief in himself and in doing the right thing no matter how difficult.

Jamie Fraser from Outlander for being a strong, hunk of man who treats Claire right and travels through history with style and humor.

Henry Tilman from Northanger Abbey, for his humor and twinkling eyes, and for standing up for love and breaking the pattern of asshatery of his father.

Mark Darcy from Bridget Jones for loving Bridget's enthusiasm and recognizing eventually, that he needs Bridget, and for wearing the reindeer jumper from his mother.

I can't decide between Gilbert Blythe and Matthew Cuthbert, because they both love Anne and were my first literary crushes.

Favorite player from Harry Potter would be Dumbledore. I loved his belief in Harry and Snape and goodness, and for letting Harry figure most things out himself.

I'm a day late since I was at Parent Teacher interviews for all hours yesterday, and by the time I got home last night, all I could do was eat a Peanut Buster Parfait and watch Survivor and Lost.

  1. I like Almanzo Wilder and Cap Garland from The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder. They made a dangerous trip to get supplies for the town. Without them, everyone would've starved to death.

  3. You stole some of my choices! Ok, so we share the same tastes....Mark Darcy (cause we all have some Bridget in us!), Henry tilman (you really did fall in love with him on tv, didn't you?), Jamie Fraser (I'm about to reread Outlander again, I remember him as hunky).....I still have to do this part on my blog, I just couldn't decide....

  4. I liked Dumbledore for the same reasons you stated.

I never thought of it before, but I think Gilbert Blythe must have been my first literary crush as well...and what a cutie in the movie as well!

  5. bybee - excellent choices! I loved Manly too.

    jan - thanks

christina - it might just be the actor I am so impressed with, he was adorable

susan - we do share the same taste. I think it was the acotr, JJ Feilds, was just so adorable. I still haven't watched the last episode of P&P, hopefully today.
I found the guys easier to do than the girls, but most people found the girls easier.

trish - Dumbledore really made the books, and I believed him about everything with Snape.
    Gilbert was practically perfect.

  7. I'm always impressed when people can recall these things. I read that and my mind went blank. Very discouraging. Since you mentioned them, I agree with every name you wrote. I'm enjoying the main character in Crossed, even tho I don't know his name yet. He's the narrator and hasn't revealed his name yet, but he is funny and has a good heart.

  8. Oh, I should have added Gilbert to my list too, even though he pulled Anne's hair.
