(It’s an oldie but a goodie question for a reason, after all … because, who can’t use good book suggestions from time to time?)
These are my top rated books from last year at librarything, so I liked them best, at least when I rated them! No, in retrospect, these were all great reads, for all different reasons. Enjoy!
Before Green Gables by Budge Wilson
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Crow Lake by Mary Lawson
Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli
The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
Black Swan Green by David Mitchell
The Blinding Absense of Light by Ben Tahar Jalloun
I have read Crow Lake, The Book Thief and Persepolis. I loved those.
ReplyDeleteThe Cellist of Sarajevo is on its way to me.
I am going to check out the other books in your list.

What a great list! I loved Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next Series, they were all good!
ReplyDeleteSeveral of those have made my best of lists over the years
ReplyDeleteI just bought The Book Thief, and I love the Eyre Affaire! The 5th book in the series, Something's Rotten, made my list of best reads for this year :-) I keep picking up Persepolis and putting it back, so I think i'm getting ready to read it soon. Lovely list of your favourite reads!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to check out some of the books on your list. The Book Thief is on my TBR list. Some of my Favorites were "The Bonesetters Daughter," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Miracle at Speedy Motors," & "Stop Dressing Your 6 Year Old Like a Skank."
ReplyDeleteWishing you Great Reading in 2009!
