I'm in nineteenth century America. I'm in the midst of the political intrigue surrounding Andrew Jackson and his presidency. Lots of things surprised me.
ReplyDeleteI am in the Australian bush country in the quaint town of Karakarook with some quirky characters in The Idea of Perfection by Kate Grenville. I'm three quarters of the way through and I absolutely adore this book. Grenville has developed these characters in such vivid detail that you know what they'll say almost before you read it on the page. Great stuff.

ReplyDeleteI'm in Chicago and some of the surrounding states. It's 1934, and the FBI is having growing pains as famous criminals such as John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson, The Barker gang and Bonnie and Clyde are running rampant.
