  2. Well...I've only read a few of your choices. Garden Spells, which I liked, but didn't love. (reminded me too much of Practical Magic). But Hunger Games/Catching Fire. OH YEAH!!!

I do have a bunch on my TBR list. Glad to see they are good!

  3. Oh my. I haven't read any of these! On the positive side, I own four of them so I will someday. Most looking forward to Hugo Cabret.

  4. Olive Kitteredge and Then We Came to the End are on my year's "best of" list too, and I just picked up Beat the Reaper at a used bookstore yesterday. Happy reading!

  5. bybee - such a great book, thanks for talking it up. Plus, Uncle Steve loves him, that's another pretty big rec.

stephanie - I've never read Practical Magic, maybe it'll remind me too much of Garden Spells. I can't wait (and neither can my son!) for the last Hunger Games Books.

John - none of them? I bet your kids will enjoy Hugo Cabret as well. It's not many 500 page books they get to read themselves.

amy - you too! See if Beat the Reaper reminds you of House and the Sopranos, all rolled up together. I gobbled Beat the Reaper up one weekend, I couldn't put it down.

  8. I find coming up with these lists difficult too! I enjoyed reading through yours, Elizabeth. You've got a few there that I haven't yet read but want to.

The only one you mention that I've read is Wife of the Gods, which I did enjoy quite a bit.
