BLOGGING: It's Tuesday, where are you?

Where is reading taking you today? I am about to begin a new book, because hopefully I finished In the Country of Men last night. (I write this Monday night and take advantage of the scheduled posting from blogspot. It's a neat little feature, but what has happened to the sticky post? How do you write a post with a future date? I'm scared to make any changes to my welcome post in case it won't post with the future date.) I hope I finished my book, I am quite tired of Libya and it is not keeping my attention at all. I looked at the first page of The Interloper yesterday and I think I may end up finishing it before the book I want to get finished.

Where is reading taking you today?

  1. I'm still in Alabama with the Finches. And when I'm not there I'm in the distant future with Jennifer Government, in a strange reality where corporations rule everything.

  2. I'm in exile in Europe with Marie-Therese, Marie Antoinette's only surviving child. What an amazing true story! (Marie-Therese, Child of Terror)

  3. Let's see. . . Catherine Parr has just married Henry, but is in love with Tom Seymour (The Last Wife of Henry VIII by Carolly Erickson), Lady Jane has just been offered suspension of her sentence of death if she converts to the True Faith (Innocent Traitor by Alison Weir), and John Adams wife Abigail has joined him in France (John Adams by David McCullough). It's been a busy week! :-)

Hope everyone's "travels" are going well!

  5. I'm in Findlay, Wisconsin where Andy Carpenter is defending a local kid charged with a brutal double murder. Yes, Andy has left his New Jersey hometown for a short time, but Tara the wonder dog is with him. What's making things complicated is that he's there because his former girlfriend Laurie has asked him to help this kid. The same kid she, as the acting Police Chief of Findlay is responsible for arresting.

  7. I'm in Philedelphia about to head off to Dupont University in Pensylvannia (I Am Charlotte Simmons - Tom Woolfe) and also about to trek the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia up to Maine (A Walk in the Woods - Bill Bryson).

  8. I am in Florence during the Renaissance with brief forays into an India ruled by the Mughals. I am wrapped in stories that weave about me and am not always sure if it's story or real. (The Enchantress of Florence by Salman Rushdie)

wendy - We Need to Talk About Kevin is another good book on that topic. Have you read that one?

katrina - I just finished a Bryson. That's another one I'd like to try, he hasn't disappointed me yet.

terri b - Rushdie intimidates me for no real reason that I can give. I'll look for your review when you are done.

  13. I'm in the future (at least I think it's the future) and I'm hiding out in the caves trying to steer clear from aliens so they won't take over my body. But at least their nice aliens.

  15. It's now Wednesday, and I have no idea where I am! I'm in a place called Village... and Forest. It's the futuristic world created by Lois Lowry. I'm reading Messenger where the characters of the other two books (The Giver, Gathering Blue) come together... I think.
