3M is hosting a new challenge. This doesn't even feel like a challenge because I use this list in the back of my mind when I'm picking books for reading challenges. I read 27 from this list last year. I imagine most books will be cross-listed with other reading challenges. Here's the intro from 3m's blog:The goal of this challenge is to read 10 books in 10 months from the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die list. For you non-math people, 10 out of 1001 is approximately 1%, hence the title. The challenge will run from May 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009.

It's hard to make a list, from a list, and this may well change.
Interesting. I've read 1% of your picks for this challenge. Well, more if you count anything by Vonnegut. Probably stating the obvious, but if you've yet to read anything by him, I'd start with Slaughterhouse 5

I think you'd like Fear and Trembling. It was really short. I plan on reading Disgrace, which is short.
I just finished The Reader and liked it more than I thought it would; it's fairly short as well.
